This course is designed for individuals appointed as Designated Safeguarding Officers or Leads within any organisation that works with children, whether in sport, education, or community settings. DSOs must be formally trained and empowered to support their structures, including club chairs, school leaders, or federation executives, in implementing safeguarding standards, managing concerns, and ensuring compliance with national safeguarding frameworks.
Description
This course should be completed by every person who has been identified as a Designated Safeguarding Officer/Lead. This person should be Trained and Empowered in assisting the National Federation and Club Chairperson to fulfill their responsibilities to safeguard athletes, coaches and all stakeholders at their local level in alignment with legislation and the federation’s policy.
There are 4 different Levels to this course. You will need to work through the various modules on each level which entails watching videos and reading literature. Each level has a multiple choice exam which must be completed before you can move on to the next level.
You need to complete the exams at all 4 levels before you are qualified as a Designated Safeguarding Officer/Lead.
Each level should not take you more than a day or 2 to complete.
